Ms. Lopez, a Dallas native, earned her bachelor of science in psychology and masters in counseling and has been teaching at Saint Paul for nearly 20 years. She and her family have been parishioners for more than 22 years and both her son and daughter attended Saint Paul school from kindergarten through eighth grade. Free time will find Ms. Lopez reading or traveling the world.
If there is anything Ms. Lopez is more passionate about than teaching history, it's visiting historical places and experiencing different cultures. She has visited between 25 and 30 countries, including on the continents of Africa, Europe, Central American and Asia. She and her husband even took her daughter on a momentous trip to Japan as a toddler. On that trip, her daughter, who is 26 now, took part in a film to promote Japanese tourism, and Ms. Lopez discovered she was having another child, her son, who is now 23! One of the quotes by a historical figure Ms. Lopez loves is by Martin Luther King, Jr.: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
