A Toledo, Ohio native, Kathleen Alexander has a long, distinguished career of creating, promoting and teaching art programs in the Metroplex. She is the founder of ArtStop, a premiere school for art with a 21-year history of introducing art to children via after-school classes. COVID didn't stop Ms. Alexander, as she embraced Zoom technology to continue bringing art to students in lockdown. Although she is skilled in all mediums, her personal favorite is clay and ceramics.
Ms. Alexander has been married 48 years, has two daughters, five grandchildren (including two sets of twins), and two great-grandchildren. She considers herself incredibly blessed that her entire family is local. She has a bachelors degree in visual art and secondary education from Mary Manse College. In her spare time, she loves to visit her family's home near Albequerque.
Ms. Alexander has two sets of "words to live by," one biblical and one of her own creation.
Isaiah 64:8: "But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand."
Ms. Alexander: "There is art in every heart; you can't spell heart without art."
