Mr. Marquis is beginning his first year at SPPCS as the Technology Teacher and will also be working with the after-school technology club. Prior to coming to SPCCS, Mr. Marquis has recently been working with the St. Thomas Aquinas Youth Group and Project Finding Calcutta. He has worked as a concept artist for several video game companies and as a software developer. Mr. Marquis graduated from the University of Arizona with a major in Illustration and a minor in Computer Science. Mr. Marquis was drawn to teaching at the behest of some friends and began working as a small group leader for a group of 7th-grade boys on Sunday evenings at St. Thomas Aquinas in Dallas. From then on he knew God was drawing him to teach or be involved with youth ministry in some way. Mr. Marquis says, "I have has two younger sisters, and I am older than the youngest by thirteen years. My family immigrated from China when I was two years old. I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. My last name, Marquis, is the English translation of my Chinese last name, Hou. Changing it was a silly decision I made in high school just because Marquis sounded way better to me at the time. My hobbies are tennis, working out, drawing, and playing video games!" Mr. Marquis's favorite scripture verse is Romans 8:38-3: "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
