Library Hours & Class Schedules The Westerman Library at Saint Paul Catholic Classical School is open Monday - Friday. All PK3-5th grade students visit the Westerman Library as a class one day a week at a set time during their Specials rotation schedule. Middle school students may visit the library as needed during their Literature or English class and recess time. The library is open throughout the school day and students are encouraged to visit the library with the permission of their teacher and to use our resources. Proper library behavior, including adherence to school Internet guidelines, is expected from every student. Check-out Policy Students in grades kindergarten through second may check out one book for one week. Students in grades third through eighth may check out two books for one week. Books may be renewed on a weekly basis should there be no waiting list for the title and if the book is not already overdue. The safe keeping of borrowed library books is the responsibility of every SPCCS student. Students are responsible for taking good care of borrowed materials and returning them to the library on time. All library books should be returned to the library mailbox located outside of the school cafeteria, or brought to the library. Overdue, Lost, or Damaged Materials Policy Overdue Book Returns: The due date is stamped in each book when checked out. A 10-cent fine per school day will be charged for overdue books, beginning one week from the due date, until the book is returned to the library. Lost/Damaged Books: Lost or damaged library books must be paid for before another book may be checked-out. A book is considered lost when it is two weeks overdue, at which time the borrower is charged the replacement cost plus a $5 processing fee, and library borrowing privileges are suspended. Library privileges remain suspended until all fines for overdue, lost, and damaged books are paid. Charges for library fees will be billed through FACTS and they are non-refundable. Please encourage your child to talk to library staff and teachers if they misplace a book as we are willing to help them look for it in the library, make suggestions of places to look within the school, and have heard of many unique spots where library books have been found at home that they might want to check. |
